Why we started T-Up

Four years ago, we picked up a golf club for the first time.

We thought we were starting a hobby. We were wrong.

Somewhere between that first pure strike and the dozens of not-so-pure ones that followed, something clicked. And no, not just the sound of the clubface. We got hooked on the game, the grind, and everything that comes with it.

Because golf isn’t just golf.

It’s early mornings on dew-covered fairways. It’s the quiet before a tee shot and the laughter after a bad one. It’s long walks in beautiful places, friendly competition, and hours where the outside world simply fades away. What started as a few casual rounds quickly became the highlight of our weeks… and eventually, our years. Weekly games turned into annual trips. New courses brought new stories. New players became lifelong friends. And with every round, our love for the game only grew stronger.

But along the way, we noticed something.

The Conversation That Changed Everything

A few months ago, one of us was spending time in North Carolina, while the other was spending a lot of time in New Jersey. Even while being away from home, we stayed connected through constant conversations and shared experiences — and, unsurprisingly, most of them somehow drifted back to golf.

“Man, everybody plays golf here. It’s everywhere. It feels social, accessible… relaxed. You would love it here. There’s even this random sports bar with simulator bays built into it. How cool is that?”

And honestly, that simple conversation captured exactly what we had been feeling for a while.

In some places, golf feels deeply woven into everyday life. People play after work. Friends meet around the game casually. Beginners feel welcome. The sport feels less intimidating and more connected. Back home in Belgium, we felt there was room for more of that energy. Golf isn’t always easy to get into. It can feel intimidating. Exclusive. Complicated. And for a lot of people, that’s enough to stay away.

What We’re Building

We’ve felt that too.

So we started asking ourselves: what if it didn’t have to be that way? What if golf was more open? More social? More connected?

That’s what we’re building.

A community where anyone, from complete beginners to seasoned players, can show up, play, and belong. A place where tournaments feel accessible, discovering new courses comes through real experiences, and every round gets better because it’s shared.

Think of it like a running club… minus the running, plus your golf clubs.

And we’re taking it beyond the course.

From pop-up events with friends to simulator setups that bring golf into entirely new spaces, we’re creating experiences that open the game to people who might never have considered it before.

This isn’t just a business.

It’s the kind of golf world we wish existed when we started.

More open. More social. More fun.

And we’re just getting started.
